Although climbing is sometimes photographed brilliantly, most attempts to convey the form of a crag through a photo are disappointing. Often the bones of the crag are obscured by fore-shortening, by foliage, and by oppressive detail. Somehow, drawings can give a stronger feel for the walls, slabs and buttresses. Here, then are a few drawings of some of my favourite rock climbing landscapes.
